Even More V-Day and Scrapbook Love

This weekend I was supposed to go up north with some friends, but after hearing about a 65 car pile-up on Friday night and 20 accidents Saturday morning during the news cast alone, we nixed the up north part and spent 7 hours scrapping locally. Here are 6 out of the 7 layouts I rocked out. The 7th isn't quite right just yet, so I'll have to post it next time. Now, since you all are waiting with baited breath, without further ado:

I also made Valentines for the girls to give to their classmates. I got the idea from Pinterest and used my cricut to cut the butterflies. Then I added punched hearts or stamps to the wings, cut two small slits in the centers and added a Tootsie Pop with glued on googly eyes.

V-day Wreath and Some Scrapbooking Love

This weekend I made an easy Valentine's Day wreath to hang on my front door. I still had a Christmas wreath up. Yes, I know its February but I'm a full-time working Mom so cut me some slack, okay?

I got the grapevine heart shaped wreath from the craft store and added ribbon and a bunting. I love buntings, can you tell?

I love scrapbooking and have spent waaaayy more money on letter stickers, buttons, ribbon, patterned papers and punches than I care to admit. I spend a lot of time looking at various scrapbooking and paper crafting websites and get lots of inspiration from lots of cool designers like Jen Jockisch and the girls at Studio Calico. And of course Pinterest has a ton of great ideas that can be easily scraplifted.

Here a a few layouts I did this weekend.

Yeah I know I miscropped this one and I'm too lazy and tired to go back and fix it, so please excuse the builder beige carpet back drop.

More scrapbooking layouts to come, since I'm off on a girls scrap trip this weekend! Woot!

Valentine's Day

This weekend was round two for Valentine's Day crafts. I made two buntings, a billion-button heart, and a birdhouse. Because what's Valentine's Day without a birdhouse?

The first bunting I made from felt, double fold quilt binding, fabric and Heat and Bond.

I cut the felt into triangles, cut out some fabric hearts, ironed the Heat and Bond to the hearts, and then ironed the hearts to the felt. Next, I ironed the Heat and Bond to the inside of the quilt binding, arranged the felt triangles, and ironed the whole length of the binding to adhere. Easy.

The second bunting was even easier. I had a Harry Potter paperback that I had cut for a Christmas present, so I took out five whole book pages, cut the bottoms into a flag, used my craft knife to cut out heart shapes, adhered patterned paper and some glitter stickers, and stapled the flags to some ribbon.

For the birdhouse, I bought a plain unfinished wood bird house from the craft store. I painted it, added some glitter to the paint for some shine, and added embellishments.

Finally, I made a billion-button heart by gluing buttons in a heart shape to patterned cardstock. Quick, cute, and easy.

Valentine's Preview

I still have my Christmas stuff up. Mostly because I'm sick and too lazy to take it all down. My crafty Christmas extravaganza kinda wiped me out, so I had to switch holidays right quick before I started to grow a white beard. I got these frames at Michael's for one dollar apiece. Helluva deal. Here they are before:

Ooops. I forgot to add that picture. Until then, here is what they looked like after I Mod Podged scrapbook paper and added some embellishments to the fronts of the frames:

More Valentine's Day stuff coming soon, and it's Lily's 5th birthday tomorrow. Sniff. So look out for cakes, cupcakes, treat bags and the like!
